Limestone Coast

Beaches
Salmon Hole

This is probably the nicest beach in this town full of nice beaches. Calm, protected waters. A good spot for photos.

Long Beach

This beach stretches more than 100 kms so you will easily find some space for yourself. Beach camping is free anywhere along the beach but you will need a 4wd. Stay close to the town if you don’t have a 4wd as the sand is firmer.

Attractions
Canunda National Park

Though the park stretches down the coast a long way, the area near Southend at the top of the park is the most accessible. The rest of the park is more suited for those with a 4wd. If you don’t have one you can get to Cape Buffon along Cape Buffon Drv. 2wd should take you as far as Geltwood Beach. 4wds can drive the full length of the park from here following the marker posts through the dunes. ..

Pool of Siloam

A small lake fed by freshwater springs. Due to the location near the the sea it has an extremely high salt content. Good place for a relaxing float.

Food
Coonalpyn Silo Cafe

Nice little cafe. Makes a good pitstop for those travelling down the highway. Good coffee and a view of some impressive grafitti.

Accommodation
Kotgee Campground

Great sheltered coastal site with good sites for tents or vehicles. Accessible and very good facilities.

Three Mile Bend Camping

Great camping ground. Very private and accessible. Sandy campsites.

Old Man Lake

Nice campsite just out of Robe. Interesting walks in the area. Book at the Parks SA site. Only a slight chance of getting caught by rangers here. Little Dip Conservation Park has a lot of campsites and good walks plus beach access.

Coorong Hotel Motel

One of the only hotels along this road. This place has a/c if it is too hot for camping. You can get a beer here as well.

Jetty Reserve

Nice campsite on the Coorong. Take the ferry there – it will only take a few minutes. On a clear night the stars here are incredible. Free camping on both sides of the ferry but it is a bit nicer on the Jetty Reserve side. Great fishing.
