Brisbane CBD

The girls in Brisbane are more friendly and less sophisticated than girls in Sydney or Melbourne. Weather here means girls are generally wearing less and are more tanned than in the south. Brisbane has liquor selling laws meaning that bars can't serve alcohol after 3am. There is no early lockout at the moment but the state government is trying to pass one. You will need ID everywhere after 10pm.

A bottle shop. If you buy food here you can drink out the front. The food is cheap and good.

Grungy little bar beneath Nomads hostel. Lots of pretty young things here, generally backpackers but some locals. This is the only place in town to go on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as a great spot on the weekend.

Packed on a Thursday night with great drink specials. The crowd here is not sophisticated but you will have a lot of fun if you can avoid getting in a fight.

Live music every night and nice beer.

Pool hall with a cool crowd and cheap drinks especially between 5 and 7. Cool place to hang out with your friends. They have Karaoke as well.

Cheap beers at this student bar on campus at QUT Garden Point.

This is the place to see and be seen on the weekend. Lots of good looking girls here on the weekend. Expect to pay a cover around $10. There is a bit of a dress code here.

Popular with the cool kids and the place to be in the CBD on a Sunday. Gets busy later in the night.

The casino is open all night and has a few different bars.

Cool bar with a dancefloor upstairs. Busy on Thursday.

Country pub in the city. It gets pretty loose in here and they have a mechanical bull. Definitely worth a look in on the weekend.

Huge bar near the stadium. This is the place to be if there is a big sports event.

Great venue. Music every night, swing dancing, great bartenders & nice food. There is a "hidden bar" upstairs, The Mermaid Lounge.

Huge bar with a young crowd. Busy on Sunday.

Beautiful gardens by the river. Great spot to chill out. You can cross the river here at the Goodwill Bridge.

In the Botanic Gardens Every Sunday. Cool, laid back market.

Albert St Really quiet spot in the middle of town. Hedge maze and sculptures. This is a great place for a BBQ.

Free tours up the clock tower run every 15 minutes. The square is a great place to hang out and is popular with buskers.

Brisbane is the best place in the country to catch a big sporting event. Lots of fun before and after on Caxton St.

Awesome food here. Aside from ramen they have great gyoza and salads. Not cheap but not expensive either.

Big hostel with a very fun atmosphere. Down Under Bar is right below so this a good place to stay if you want to party.
