Fortitude Valley and New Farm

Info
Intro

Fortitude Valley is the major nightlife district in Brisbane. The place to be in Brisbane at night. During the day Newstead & New Farm are pleasant suburbs along the river.

Girls

Teeming with pretty girls on the weekend, The Valley is a great place to party. It can definitely be a bit sleazy but if you know where to go there is something for everyone here. During the day it is quiet. Through the week the Valley is pretty quiet though Wednesday is OK at Rics. Salsa night at Cloudland is great on Thursday. Friday and Saturday are very busy here. The Triffid a ... ... ...

Nightlife
Capulet

Great bar with a party vibe. Go on Friday for tasty house and techno tunes or on Saturday for tasty Brazilian babes.

Marquee Bar

Cheap drinks and an interesting crowd. Very social vibe here but there may not be anyone you want to socialise with.

Laruche

Cool bar with good DJs. Sunday is a good night here with a friendly crowd and cheap drinks. It is laid back in the early evening but gets pretty wild later on.

The TBC Club

Tiny club and great music here. Very young crowd. They usually have a cover of around $10.

Rics Bar

Friendly vibe at this grungy bar. Drinks are not cheap but this is a very social place and there are a lot of girls here. A bit of a hipster joint. Thursday night has cheap drinks. RGs is the bar next door and is connected to Ric's.

RGs

Cool place with similar vibe and crowd to Rics but with a beer garden.

Beirne Lane

Average place and expensive but it is open 24 hours.

The Foundry

Lots of good bands playing here and it draws a good crowd on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Met

Huge club with a cool crowd and lots of lookers. Saturday is probably the best time to be here as it can be quiet on other nights. Good setup with lots of nooks and crannies.

Birdee Num Nums

Lots of students and backpackers here as it is under a hostel. Very young crowd, lots of fun. People here get super drunk. $10 entry charged.

Huge superclub with multiple levels and lots of different bars and dancefloors. It gets really packed and you might have to line up for a long time to get in. Music can be good but cover charge is at least $15.

Cloudland

Fancy bar with a bit of a pretentious crowd but still a lot of fun. They have a salsa night on Thursdays which is great. They have a dress code here so you might need a collared shirt to get in.

Brightside

Rock bar with lots of great local bands and a good playlist.

Crowbar

Mainly metal bands play here.

Woolly Mammoth

Busy place. The crowd is mostly male but people are friendly here, and very drunk.

Black Bear Lodge

Cool little live music venue. Not the most social place.

The Bowery

Cool bar with a slightly pretentious crowd.

Alfred and Constance

Cool spot but not the best place to socialise. Gets very packed. Music is top 40 type stuff.

Netherworld

Free video games, a decent crowd and friendly staff. Good place to chill.

The Elephant

English theme pub that is worth a look on the weekend. An older crowd and lots of pokies but it is better than it looks when you first walk in.

Prohibition

Underground bar where things get really loose. Everyone here is super drunk but it is a friendly crowd. For whatever reason they have a dress code so wear a shirt.

x+y bar

Really relaxed vibe here and good music. Mainly rock music and good drink prices.

The Empire

Flash bar with a big balcony to hang out on. Good for people watching.

GPO

Good bar which gets busy on the weekend. There is a dress code so you may need to wear fancy shoes. Good later on in the night and draws a lot of South Americans. There is usually a cover charge around $15.

Great beer and oysters.

Newstead Brewing Company

Bigger than Green Beacon and has good food as well.
