Straddie is easy to get to from Cleveland Harbour in the south of Brisbane. Book in advance as it gets busy during peak times in the summer and school holidays.

Beaches
Main Beach

Beautiful long surf beach backed by sand dunes. Big swells here and lots of different breaks along the beach. Great view from the headland. Good snorkelling at the northern end. There are strong currents here and patrols at the northern end. You can also get a 4wd permit and drive along the beach.

Cylinder Beach

Beautiful beach that is patrolled. Not much of a swell but there is sometimes a good longboard wave. This place is great for swimming and sunbathing.

Amity Point

On the western side of the island has a sandy beach and a swimming enclosure. Great place for fishing. Lots of dolphins here.

Deadmans Beach

Beautiful secluded beach with nice rockpools at the western end. Park on Cutter St in Point Lookout and walk down.

Frenchmans Beach

Another beautiful quiet beach. You can walk down from Snapper St in Point Lookout.

Attractions
Brown Lake

Great spot to swim and there are BBQs, toilets and picnic tables.

The Gorge Walk

Gorgeous views along this short walk. Great place to spot marine life. Good for whalewatching from June to November.

Manta Lodge and Scuba Centre

Great diving here especially at Manta Bommie which is a magnet for Mantas as well as Turtles.

Oceanic Gelati and Coffee Bar

Great place for an ice cream on a hot day.

Accommodation
Minjerribah Camping

You can book a campsite on their website (minjerribahcamping.com.au). It is busy here at peak times and the prices go up. Some of the best sites are Amity Point and Adder Rock.

Nice clean hostel attached to the dive shop.
