Beautiful beach town with something for everyone. Noosa is generally not a party destination though it can be around Christmas and New Year. Famous for longboard breaks this is one of the best places in the country for beginner surfers.

Noosa can be quiet but draws in a lot of travellers both international and domestic during the summer. The main beach is packed when the weather is good and is a great place to meet girls.

Noosa is a small town so you most likely won't need to use public transport. There is a ferry up the river and a hail and ride bus service if needed.

Noosa Main Beach

Beautiful busy beach right in town. Gentle waves make it great for swimming and beginner surfers. It is popular with longboarders. Always plenty of people on the beach because it is a perfect place to sunbathe.

Noosa Groyne

Great spot for surfing and fishing. North of Noosa Main Beach it is a bit quieter and backs onto the beautiful Noosa Woods.

Noosa Spit

Some calm, quiet beaches on the river.

Sunshine Beach

>Patrolled beach with big surf. The beach stretches down a long way here and is a bit quieter than Noosa Beach. The best surf is usually at the northern end.

Sunrise Beach

The same stretch of beach as Sunshine Beach. It is quieter but otherwise similar. This beach continues down through Castaways Beach and Marcus Beach, which are more isolated sections surrounded by parklands, to Peregian Beach, which is a little busier and patrolled.

Noosa North Shore

It costs $7 each way per vehicle. You will need a 4wd. Once there you can drive along the long stretch of beach. Great for fishing, surfing and camping. At several spots there are coloured sand cliffs. Feels very isolated here though it is minutes from Noosa. Pack extra petrol and food as it is hard to find anything here. There is a caravan park here with a bar and restaurant.

First Point

A favourite for longboarders. This is probably the best longboard wave in the country and the backdrop is beautiful.

Granite Bay

Two gorgeous coves to swim and surf in. You can clamber down to the Fairy Pool, a natural rock pool, at the northern end.

Tea Tree Bay

Beautiful secluded little beach. Great for a swim and can be a good surf spot in the right conditions.

Alexandria Bay

A little harder to get around to. It is definitely worth it as this place is too good to be true. Quiet and beautiful. Great for swimming, surfing and sunbathing.

Noosa Main Beach

In the Summer there is often a party on the beach.

Halse Lodge

Awesome backpacker bar with cheap beer, good food and nice wide verandahs to sit on.

Cool bar attached to the backpacker hostel. Lots of specials.

Noosa Surf Club

Beautiful spot overlooking the beach and the beer is reasonably priced. The restaurant here is expensive but the food is very good.

Noosa Reef Hotel

Big bar with decent pub food. There is a nightclub attached which can be busy on Saturdays. They sometimes charge cover but never more than $5.

Whisky Boy

Nice quiet bar along the river.

Noosa National Park

Day use area and several great walking tracks over the headland or to one of the beautiful beaches in the National Park.

Lake Escapades

Offer single and multi day canoe trips through the Noosa Everglades.

Eumundi Markets

Every Saturday and Wednesday morning. One of the best markets in Australia. Definitely worth checking out, especially on Saturdays.

Australia Zoo

Famous for being run by Steve Irwin. Lots of exhibits and very popular place but the price is high.

They also do board hire and kayak hire at reasonable rates.

Laguna Lookout

Beautiful lookout. Popular at sunset.

YHA Halse Lodge

Good spot close to Hastings St and the beach. There is a great bar attached.

Nomads Noosa

Nice place with a bar and swimming pool. They are picky about people drinking in their rooms.
