Intro

The kayaking here can be a highlight of your trip to Australia. Nice pub in the village. You can buy a map of bushwalks in the area for about $7. Worthwhile because the walks are not always signposted. It is a gorgeous area for bushwalking. There is also an impressive suspension bridge across the Kangaroo River.

Attractions
Kangaroo Valley Canoes

Kayak company will can organise pick up, drop off and hire for trips up the river for $150 a night. The river has a series of rapids that are suitable and enjoyable for beginners.

The Three Views Track

An easy day walk. Gives you pretty much what it says on the box. You won't need a map for this one and can find the start of the trail clearly signposted.

Fitzroy Falls

Large waterfalls and lots of viewing platforms. Try the east or west rim crater walks to get a look around the Morton National Park. There is a little cafe at the visitor centre here.

Belmore Waterfall

Where you see a path behind the fence near Hindmarsh Lookout jump the fence and follow the path until you reach a clearing. At the clearing go left and follow this steep and difficult track to the waterfalls base. Beautiful spot.

They claim to have "The World's Best Pies" and do a pretty good job of backing up their claim.

Staying in Kangaroo Valley

Easy to find space for freedom camping. There are two good caravan parks.

Bendeela Recreation Area Campground

Huge, grassy campground on the Kangaroo River. There are lots of wombats at this campsite so lock up your food.
